Project: Ontario East-West Transmission Line
Location: Marathon, Ontario to Wawa, Ontario
Year: 2020 – 2022 Construction Seasons
Revenue: $54 Million
Kabi Lake completed the clearing, brushing and grinding of approximately 1,100ha of 60m wide transmission line ROW between Marathon and Wawa, Ontario over the course of two winter construction seasons. The project also consisted of 173km of new access construction, 62km of upgraded access and 46km of winter access that were completed within the 2 years of construction.
Project: Silver Lake - TMF 2m Raise
Location: White River, Ontario
Year: 2022 Construction Season
Revenue: $2.5 Million
Kabi Lake completed the construction of a 2m lift at the Silver Lake Tailings Management Facility (TMF) located in White River, Ontario. The project consisted of a 78m grout curtain, 78m concrete plinth and 4,650m2 of bituminous liner installation. A total of approximately 55,000m3 of material was placed between common rock, ½” crushed and bedding sand across three dam locations.
Project: Harte Gold - Sugar Zone
Location: White River, Ontario
Year: 2017-2019 Construction Seasons

Kabi Lake completed the construction of the Harte Gold Tailings Management Facility (TMF) located in White River, Ontario. The project consisted of a 250m grout curtain, concrete plinth and a bituminous liner installation. The project consisted of hauling, placing and shaping a total of approximately 130,000m3 material with a 20 – 50km haul distance from the source. The TMF was lined with a bituminous liner, sealed to a concrete plinth and tested to ensure a proper seal.
Approximately 16ha were cleared in preparation for the TMF. Kabi also cleared the ROW for a powerline to site that measured a total of 46km at 18m wide.
Project: Greenwich Wind Farm – Enbridge
Location: Dorion, Ontario
Year: 2010 – 2011 Construction Seasons
Revenue: $15.5 Million
Kabi Lake completed the construction of the Greenwich Wind Farm located in Dorion, Ontario. The project consisted of the construction of 43 wind turbine laydowns, 22km of new road and 57km of road upgrades. In addition, 212,000m3 of rock was drilled, blasted, excavated and hauled on site and all new road access right-of-ways were cleared.
Project: White River Hydroelectric Dams – Regional Power
Location: White River, Ontario
Year: 2013 – 2014 Construction Season
Revenue: $32 Million
Kabi Lake completed the construction of two Hydroelectric Dams on the White River located in White River, Ontario. The project consisted of the drilling, blasting, hauling and placing of approximately 530,000m3 of earth and rock on two hydro dam locations. Drilling and blasting was completed in the spillway and channel area and included pre-shear drilling. Construction of the hydro dams also consisted of two sheet pile dams supported by 280,000 m3 of sand and rock fill to divert water through the hydro dams. In addition, there was 330ha of reservoir clearing as well as the upgrading and construction of multiple roads on the project.
Project: Argonaut – Magino Mine Expansion Clearing
Location: Dubreuilville, Ontario
Year: 2020-2022 Winter Construction Seasons
Revenue: $11.5 Million
Kabi Lake completed the clearing of approximately 400ha of land for the development of the Magino Mine Site. The project consisted of cutting, skidding, brushing, grinding, burning, loading and hauling of wood. In addition, Kabi also constructed temporary access trails for the removal of wood and hauling to laydown or the appropriate mill.
